Requesting a refund
To apply for a refund of your unused balance, follow the steps below. We can only process refunds to European IBAN accounts. If you don’t have one, you can set up one easily and for free via platforms like Revolut or Wise.
Steps
- Go the the cashless portal following this link.
- Choose "add your chip/wristband".
- Log in or create a new account.
- Select "bracelet", add the PIN and CHIP NUMBER (find it on the back of your wristband chip).
- You're now in the Wallet Overview. Here you can find your transactions, request a payout of your leftover balance, and link your Portuguese NIF number to your purchases.
- You can also donate (part of) your balance to the Waking Life Landcare Project.
Refund period
June 25 – July 15. After that, no more refund requests are possible.
Once processed, refunds will take about 2 weeks to arrive to your account.
NIF requests (Portugal)
If you're a Portuguese taxpayer and would like to enter your NIF for tax purposes, please follow the steps above and click the link to the form in the wallet overview. All purchases made with your wristband will be reported to the Portuguese tax authorities by the end of July.
Support
Click the HELP button at the bottom of the cashless portal. A popup will appear with answers to FAQs and the possibility to send a message directly to the cashless support.
